Carol Bartz is named as Yahoo CEO today. The current president Sue Decker who had been considered by many to be in line for the top job will resign after a transitional period. Bartz, previously led Autodesk (a omputer-aided design software company) as CEO for 14 years.
Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO) the Sunnyvale-based company was looking for a new CEO since founder Jerry Yang, stepped down in November.
There are reports that a deal with Redmond, based Microsoft isn’t far behind.
