Google Sites has just added a new “Monetize” tab in the settings area. This will enable Google Sites to display ads from Google Adsense program.
To go to Monetize Tab first click on settings in your site.
The Monetize feature, which can be enabled by site owners, makes it easy to place AdSense ads on a site’s side bar or page content. Just click on Monetize this site to get started.
Here you can enable the adsens. If you already have an AdSense account you will be required to just enter the email address associated with your account and a PIN.
If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for a new AdSense account directly from your site.
Now you are ready to enable ads for your site. There are a two ways to decide how and where ads appear. First – ads in your navigation bar (side bar), you can stick with the default, or change to a different format on the “Page Layout” tab.
You can add up to three adsense units on a page and three link units. To add the adsese units in your sidebar you have to add it by modifying your site layout options.
You can also insert a wide variety of ad sizes in your page content by clicking on “Insert” and choosing “AdSense” when editing a page. It is as easy as adding a gadget.
So that’s it – you are ready to go with adsense in your Google site. Great way to earn on internet.

Despite adding this the ads are not appearing on my site created using Google Sites. I already had a Adsense account and it works fine on my other website. What could be the issue?

If you are en existing user and you already have adsense working elsewhere – there is no reason it should not work here. Before the ads start appearing on your website created usign Google Sites – Google adsense sends you a verification for Google sites to be accessed by adsense. This step may not be necessary for those who are signing up from Google Sites itself. May be you check your email and look for the verification email sent by Google Adsense. Hope this will help!
