How to recover WordPress Password? That will be your question when you forget your WordPress admin password. It is very frustrating when even the email recovery does not work. This may have happened if you forget your password, may be you have not used it for some time or just that you have recently changed your password and have not wrote it down or saved it.
Not to worry as it is not the end of the world and there are ways to change your password in simple steps even when you can not connect to the admin control panel of WordPress. To know how to recover WordPress Password – keep reading below.
- Log on to your WordPress database using MySQL
- Go to the user Table
- View the user records
- Identify the admin record
- Click on edit
- Use MD5 encryption to write a new password and copy it
- Replace the old password with new password
- Save. You have now successfully replaced your password
- Login to wordpress
- Change the password again (to be on a safer side)
The above steps are shown in following WordPress video tutorial. This video tutorial will show you how to connect to the MySQL database, and easily change the password.
Make sure that you create a password that is difficult for someone to break, but is easy for you to remember.
Do not try to use existing MD5 hash and decrypt it as it may be unsafe. Always recommended to create a new hash and then login to your site and change it normally in the WordPress administration interface again. Better safe than getting hacked!
