TechSmith is giving away fully licensed copies of SnagIt screen capture software for free.Using Snagit, you can select and capture anything on your screen and share it with others to visually clarify difficult concepts, create clearer documentation, and give your presentations a professional, dynamic look.

Other than regular screenshots, SnagIt can capture scrolling long web pages, extract text from windows, annotate images and more.

TechSmith today released SnagIt 9 – the best screen capture program for Windows. SnagIt 9 is available for download on Windows XP and Vista systems though the Mac version is still in the works.

The screen capture features in SnagIt 9 are more or less the same as in previous versions but they have completely revamped the user interface on the lines of Office 2007 Ribbon.

2. Crop Screenshot Images Quickly – You can now remove the white space areas around screen captures in a click using the trim command that you may have seen in Photoshop as well. SnagIt 9 will crop everything surrounding the actual image like in the above case of Google logo.

Step 2: Visit the TechSmith website and request for a SnagIt 7 Software key – it should arrive in your Inbox pretty soon. Just key in the registration details and your trial copy of SnagIt will convert into a full retail version.

This complimentary copy of SnagIt is version 7.2.5 – you can upgrade that to the current version SnagIt 8.2 at half the standard price.
