Insert a calendar invitation in Gmail while composing a mail is a new feature released today. You can now insert a calendar invitation directly from the compose window in Gmail.
How to insert Calendar invitation in Gmail?
Compose a new message and click on the new link “Insert: Invitation”.

Click on that link and a small window appears that displays your availability as well as that of the people you’re emailing provided you have permission to see their calendars.

Click “Insert Invitation” and this adds a preview to your email message. If you want to edit the Calendar Invitation just click on Edit link at top right in the Calender Invitation Box inserted in email (picture below).

But remember only sending the message adds the event to your calendar and your friends’ calendars. If you do not send the message the vent will not be created.
Cool! Insert a calendar invitation in Gmail has made your job easier and now you do not need to go to Calendar App to create an event – just create it while writing the mail.
