Skype launched its Internet calling application on Android mobile handsets.
Skype is now available on a wide range of Android phones, It is already available for the iPhone. With the new app, Owners of Android-based mobile phones can make free Skype-to-Skype calls, and send and receive IMs for free, one-to-one or with a group. You can also call phones at Skype’s great rates – over WiFi or 3G.
“Making the Skype experience available for download to Android-powered devices, as well as hundreds of other mobile phones from the world’s leading handset manufacturers is a major step forward for Skype,” said Scott Durchslag, COO of Skype.
To make calls to phones abroad, simply dial the number in Skype and pay with Skype Credit – or make unlimited calls with a subscription. When you’re abroad, we recommend that you connect to a WiFi zone for best value.
Users of Skype on a computer will see full contact list when you sign in to Skype on your Android phone. If not, you can set up an account and be ready to go in minutes.
