Now getting a broadband connection is easy with Satellite Internet. Without DSL and Cable get a broadband connection to your home or office.
Satellite Internet access is Internet access provided through satellites. If DSL or cable services are unavailable, you can still get a fast connection to the web from various Satellite providers.
Satellite Internet is available over most of the country as long as the site has a clear view to the southern sky.
Satellite Internet does not use telephone lines or cable systems, but instead uses a satellite dish for two-way data communications. Upload speed is about one-tenth of the 500 kbps download speed. Cable and DSL have higher download speeds, but satellite systems are about 10 times faster than a normal modem.
Two-way satellite Internet consists of:
Approximately a two-foot by three-foot dish
Two modems (uplink and downlink)
Coaxial cables between dish and modem
satellite Internet access available at many different price levels, depending on the speed, maximum data transfer and other features included with the service.
