PlayStation Phone by Sony Ericsson Release date and Specifications

We have heard some ongoing rumors that Sony Ericsson is soon to launch a Playstation-branded gaming phone which will be running on a Google Android operating system.

Sony Ericsson is coming up with a big surprise that might hit the mobile and gaming market. Playstation phone will feature the Android 3.0 OS with codename Gingerbread and it will include standard Android apps and a marketplace especially for Android-based games which specifically games that will make use of the phone’s PSP-like controls. The games available will be in the PSP or PSX range which only means that a true 3D gaming is headed for Android

Playstation phone is expected to feature a landscape slider with game controls keyboard instead of a QWERTY keyboard. It will also have a long touch pad to give enough space for analog controls and standard PSP buttons.

Playstation phone is rumored to have the following specifications as Sony Ericsson has not made any formal announcement yet.

Display between 3.7 and 4.1 inches WVGA

5 megapixel camera ( not yet final)

1 GHz Snapdragon CPU
