LG has unveiled their new “next generation” 3D display technology known as Film-type Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology. The new LG FPR 3D technology will be made available to a number of manufacturers including Haier, Vizio and Toshiba. The new 3D technology is designed to be easier on the eyes of the viewer by eliminating the crosstalk and flicker that is inherent in shutter glasses 3D displays.
There is also a 23-inch monitor and a large 84-inch ultra HD 3D panel (3840×2160) 3D panel to be in its pipeline soon, adopting the new 3D technology. LG expects the new technology to form the basis of all its immediate 3D display plans and expects a number of major manufacturers to adopt this new technology too.
