Fraunhofer research scientists are doing work on technologies for live watching 3D without glasses. 3D TV without glasses is a new technology of four camera system. 3D without glasses development is based on STAN assistance system. 3-dimensional (3D) real-time television, recorded and broadcast live, in colour and without glasses. Grundig, Newsight and 3D Image Processing (3D IP) have succeeded in capturing live video and streaming it through an autostereoscopic 3D display system.
Wearing glasses is just too uncomfortable, stated Frederik Zilly from the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI in Berlin.
According to sources, 3D without glasses development is based on STAN assistance system. With four cameras calibration is more complicated, explained by Zilly.
